Why The Collective Exists

Florida insurance careers usually force a choice. We built the third option.

Most insurance producers in Florida end up on one of two paths — and both have real costs. The Nymble Collective is the alternative.

Path 1 · Captive

Captive Agency

Single carrier. Their playbook. Their rates. You produce; they own the book and the relationship.

  • One carrier means one rate to offer
  • Book owned by the carrier
  • Limited specialization opportunities
  • Career growth bounded by corporate ladder
  • Compensation set by corporate
Path 2 · Solo Independent

Solo Independent Agency

True independence. Years of carrier-by-carrier appointment building. Build everything from scratch — alone.

  • Years to build meaningful carrier access
  • You build tech, operations, marketing
  • No back-office support — you do everything
  • No mentorship or peer network
  • High capital requirements upfront
Path 3 · The Collective

The Nymble Collective

Independent ownership with the infrastructure of a network. Carriers, technology, operations — already built. Pick the operating model that fits you.

  • Extensive Florida carrier network
  • Florida-tuned technology stack ready to use
  • Marketplace leads routed by region
  • Peer mentorship from active FL owners
  • Equity in the book you produce

Two Operating Models

Pick the way you want to run your agency.

Same carriers. Same network. Same Florida focus. Two genuinely different operating models — designed for the two kinds of agency owners we work with most. Neither is "premium" — they're different paths for different operators.

Operating Model 1

Independent Member

The owner-operator. Your brand, your customer service, more of your commission.

How you operate
Your own brand. Operate under your existing or new agency name. No co-branding required.
You service your own renewals. Full control over the customer relationship and the in-force book.
You build your own marketing. Run your own pipeline, lead generation, and customer acquisition systems.
What's included
Florida carrier network access across personal, commercial, life, and specialty lines
Marketplace lead participation. Standard regional routing from Nymble's marketplace.
Override pool sharing. 50% of network override income, distributed quarterly.
Peer mentorship and Annual Summit access.
New Business Commission85%
Renewal Commission80%
Operating Model 2

Collective Member

The growth-focused operator. Co-branded, Service Center handles renewals, you focus on production.

How you operate
Co-branded identity. "Nymble Insurance | The [Your Name] Agency" combines local presence with Nymble's brand.
Service Center handles your renewals. Renewals, in-force service, customer intake, claims advocacy — all managed by our team.
Focus on new business and growth. Spend your time on production and customer acquisition.
What's included
Florida carrier network access across personal, commercial, life, and specialty lines
Marketplace lead priority. First call on regionally routed leads.
Override pool sharing. 50% of network override income.
Co-branded website included. Built and maintained for you.
Cross-sell identification. Service Center flags opportunities; you close them.
New Business Commission85%
Renewal Commission60%

Both models receive equal new business commission (85%). The renewal rate differs because Collective Members have the Service Center handling renewals on their behalf, freeing them to focus on new business.

Choosing Your Model

Two real choices for two kinds of operators.

Neither model is the "premium" choice. The Independent Member earns more on renewals because they're doing more of the work — servicing customers, handling renewals, running their own retention systems. The Collective Member earns less on renewals because the Service Center is handling that work, freeing them to focus entirely on new business and growth.

The right choice depends on how you want to spend your time. If you love the in-force customer relationship and want to run a full-service agency, Independent fits you. If you're growth-focused and would rather spend your time producing new business while operations are handled, Collective fits you.

There's no wrong answer — just the right answer for the agency you want to build.

Which model fits you?
Indep "I want to own the full customer relationship and run my own in-force book."
Coll "I want to focus my time on selling, not on servicing renewals."
Indep "My existing brand has equity. I want to keep operating under it."
Coll "Co-branding with Nymble would help my market positioning."
Indep "I have systems in place for retention and customer service."
Coll "I want a Service Center handling renewals so I can scale faster."
Three Pillars

Carriers. Technology. Operations.

A Collective Member gets the three things every modern Florida independent needs — and most never assemble themselves.

🏢

Carrier Network

Extensive Florida carrier network across all major lines. Two-path access model accommodates carrier-specific requirements.

  • Major admitted home and auto carriers
  • Florida-specific homeowners markets
  • Private flood, surplus, DP-3
  • Commercial: BOP, GL, workers' comp
  • Life, pet, warranty, specialty

Technology Stack

A modern operating system, pre-negotiated and provisioned. The tools you'd otherwise have to source yourself.

  • Agency management system (AMS)
  • Comparative rater integrated with carriers
  • CRM, pipeline, document hub
  • Florida flood checker, Citizens depop tools
  • Customer portal at portal.nymbleinsurance.com
🛟

Operations Support

The infrastructure that makes growth possible — built into the Collective tier, optional pieces for Independent.

  • Service Center for in-force work (Collective)
  • Compliance and licensing support
  • Peer mentorship from active FL owners
  • Quarterly Roundtable and Annual Summit
  • Master Agency advocacy on carrier issues
Carrier Access

Carrier access without the appointment-by-appointment grind.

The Collective gives you access to an extensive Florida carrier network through Master Agency's existing appointments. You skip years of carrier-by-carrier appointment building. Members write business through Nymble's appointments — direct for carriers in our portfolio, and through wholesale partners for surplus and specialty markets.

When a customer needs a carrier the Collective doesn't yet offer, the carrier carve-out lets you hold a direct appointment outside Nymble in your own agency's name for that specific carrier. No customer turned away because of carrier gaps.

When Nymble adds that carrier to the network later, your book on that carrier rolls into the Collective — with a 12-month grandfather period at favorable commission split on rolled-over business.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Answers to the questions Collective candidates ask most. For anything not covered, ask in your application or on your discovery call.

Is this a franchise?+
No. The Nymble Collective is a producer-partner network — structured as an independent contractor relationship between Nymble Insurance, LLC and your agency LLC. There's no franchise fee, no royalty, and no Franchise Disclosure Document. You operate independently, you own the equity in your book, and the network supports you with shared infrastructure.
Do I need a Florida insurance license?+
Yes — Florida resident producer license required, typically a 2-20 General Lines. Other relevant Florida licenses (2-15, 2-44, 4-40) are accepted depending on the lines you write. Out-of-state candidates are considered if they commit to obtaining their Florida resident license.
What's the difference between Independent and Collective?+
Both tiers receive the same carrier network access, the same override pool share, and the same Florida focus. The difference is the operating model. Independent Members service their own renewals, operate under their own brand, and earn 85% new business / 80% renewal. Collective Members have the Service Center handling renewals, operate co-branded as "Nymble Insurance | The [Your Name] Agency," and earn 85% new business / 60% renewal. The renewal rate reflects who's doing the renewal work — you, or the Service Center.
Can I switch between tiers later?+
You can transition from Independent Member to Collective Member with 60 days' notice, once per calendar year. Election to Collective Member is permanent for the duration of your relationship with Nymble — there is no transition back to Independent. This is because Service Center capacity is hired based on Collective Member revenue projections; revenue predictability is required for that staffing. Pick your operating model carefully.
Do I own my book of business?+
Master Agency owns every policy and customer relationship. You own the financial interest — the equity — in the book you produce. Your equity entitles you to commissions per the tier rates, compensation at defined buyout rates in certain exit scenarios, and ongoing participation in renewal economics. On clean exit with sale, you're compensated for that equity. The distinction protects both sides and is standard for aggregator networks.
Can I keep direct carrier appointments outside Nymble?+
Yes — but only for carriers Nymble doesn't yet offer. The "Nymble First" rule means you quote our carriers first for any insurance need. When Nymble adds a carrier you hold directly, your book on that carrier rolls into the Collective with a 12-month grandfather period at favorable commission split. This protects you from ever turning a customer away because of carrier gaps.
What's the actual cost to join?+
Documented third-party costs only — typically $500-$1,500 for a lateral candidate, covering license verification, background check, AMS provisioning, phone setup, and similar setup costs. We document each line item. No franchise fee, no markup. Ongoing costs are technology services at pre-negotiated rates (AMS, rater, CRM, phone, e-signature, compliance tools — billed per user monthly) and your own required E&O and cyber insurance coverage.
What about insurance I need to carry as a Member?+
Members must carry professional liability (E&O) and cyber insurance coverage. Nymble makes recommendations but you choose your provider. Coverage requirements may be updated periodically by Nymble Insurance. Failure to maintain required coverage is grounds for termination of the Membership Agreement.
Does Nymble write business directly with consumers in my area?+
There are no exclusive territories. Multiple Members can serve the same Florida region, and Nymble's marketplace serves customers throughout the state. Collective Members get priority on regionally routed leads. There's plenty of Florida insurance business to go around.
Is the Collective only in Florida?+
For now, yes. Florida specialization is a feature — every part of the operating system is built for this market. Nymble may expand to other states in the future, but our current focus is Florida.
